The Model: Once the Chevrolet officials allowed Zora Arkus Duntov to drop a V8 under the hood of his little sports roadster and take it out to Florida for a drive along the Ormand Beach coast, the Corvette legacy was cast in stone. For 1957, the beauty of these cars was equaled by the power that was under the hood. While many enjoy the purity of these early sports cars, there are others who follow the American tradition of not being satisfied with “good enough”. Since this car was produced nearly 58 years ago, the improvements in technology as well as mild styling tastes have changed. The term “RestoMod” applied to cars that have maintained their original looks and in this case, eye appeal, which riding on a much improved chassis with higher performance than was ever available in its day. It is an artform of blending the old with the new.
The Car: Capturing the era of the late 1950’s the color scheme of Turquoise and White sets off the plush interior of tan leathers. While the gauges have retained their original look, they now feature modern electronics for functionality. Sitting on a set of Foose Nitrous custom wheels, the car has a subtle aggressive stance and from under the hood the LS1 engine roars to life. The beauty and style of this Corvette flows into the engine compartment with the motor painted to match the exterior. Adding dazzle, generous amounts of chrome plating have been applied to the brake master cylinder, alternator, air intake housings and even the Vintage Air conditionings compressor. It sits on a custom chassis developed to accept the C4 running gear, including the modern steering and disc brakes. This Corvette has it all, with great looks, outstanding performance, all that is needed is you to own this beauty.
