• A truly collectable model in the history of BMW
• Much sought after limited series
• Original service records

The appearance in 1986 of the "M" of BMW Motorsport on the BMW E30 was a real bombshell. The 200 bhp of this new version, badged M3, gave it a level of performance which left all its rivals lagging way behind. The success of this car convinced the manufacturer to pursue the venture, in the guise of the E36 M3, brought out in 1992, whose 3 litre, six cylinder engine, with an output of 286 bhp, gave it a top speed of 250 kph. Three years later the Munich based group decided to offer a limited series exclusively reserved for the European market. The M3 GT’s specific features differentiating it from the basic M3 3.0 : an exclusive tone of British Racing Green, 9 extra horsepower, aluminium doors, bootlid spoiler, deeper front air-dam, profiled side-skirts, 17 inch alloy wheels, numerous carbon inserts, exclusive interior in alcantara and green leather. With only 356 cars built, the M3 GT undoubtedly has rarety and collectable status.

The car in our sale left the factory on May 12th 1995 and was first sold on March 1st 1996 by the BMW concessionnaire Märtin GmbH in Bötzingen, Bade-Würtemberg, near the frontier with Alsace. She is offered with her full set of tools, spare keys and the leather wallet containing all the original handbooks and service schedule. Equipment includes a sunroof, air conditioning, heated seats, onboard computer and hifi system. The service record has several maintenance stamps and a file of invoices shows regular servicing since 2007. Several official vehicle safety tests provide proof of the correctness of the odometer reading, 179 000 km, which is very reasonable for a car of such quality. A major service was carried out in 2016 by the BMW garage in the 6th Avenue in Lyon at a cost of over 4 000 € (invoices supplied). A British Racing Green respray was applied recently and the overal appearance is more than satisfactory. The tyres are also in excellent condition. The GT version of the M3 E36 is extremely rare and is one of the highest performing and most sought after cars of its generation. This exclusivity, allied to the exceptional performance, makes this a chance not to be missed.
