Description
"The BMW E36 series is the third generation of the BMW 3 Series range of entry-level luxury cars, and was produced from 1990 to 2000. Initially available as a coupé only, BMW introduced the M3 convertible and saloon versions in 1994. In 1995, the M3 coupé and saloon were upgraded to the 316bhp, 3.2 litre engines and known as Evolution versions. At the same time, the cars received clear indicator lenses, new wheels and a six-speed gearbox. The E36 M3 chassis was touted as one of the best handling cars of the 90's in independent tests and known for its well balanced handling.
This lovely example is presented in metallic Estoril Blue and comes with a white, recently treated, leather interior, a dark blue electric hood and an accompanying hardtop. These models are very much in demand and this particular E36 is no exception to the rule of desirability with its six-speed manual gearbox mounted to the powerful 3.2 litre Evo engine. Sitting on M-style, 24 forged alloy wheels which replaced the standard M3's sunflower style, this Evolution displays just 75,827 miles and boasts a comprehensively stamped service booklet with no less than 16 stamps. The vanos unit has been checked and is quiet and the car has recently had a fresh MoT test certificate, Major service, clutch and Master/Slave cylinders replaced, reconditioned rear calipers with new pads and four new tyres. The E36 has long been the unappreciated BMW M3 as it followed the legendary E30, however in recent years collectors are starting to consider how good these examples are, a the significant step forward paving the way for the E46 which was an evolution of the E36 chassis. Prices are on the increase and finding one with low mileage is proving very difficult, it is reasonable to believe that prices will continue to increase."
