The Officine Meccaniche Rapid Company was founded in Milan for the production of roller micromotors. The first model, the ‘Rapid’ R.A. 48 was presented in 1953, which was a horizontal, 48 cc displacement, single-cylinder 2-stroke engine with a maximum speed of 40-45 km/h and a consumption of 1.5 litres of mixture per 100 km. Two years later, the Rapid R. A. 2 model was presented with power increased to 1.6 CV, with a pressed sheet metal frame and front parallelogram suspension and a two-speed gearbox, a real innovation for this type of engine. The A. 2 was presented two years later with an increased output of 1.6 hp, a pressed-metal frame, parallelogram front suspension and the special feature of a two-speed gearbox, a real innovation for this type of engine. Restored and presumably never used since. A general mechanical check is recommended before use.
