Necks will crane
This is one of just 30 Riva Ferrari 32 speedboats, built in 1990 as a waterborne representation of Ferrari’s innovative and technologically advanced Formula 1 credentials. Though far less elegant than the more traditional wooden-hulled Rivas, the bright red boat – arched over by a striking carbonfibre spoiler – would certainly turn heads on the Adriatic entering Venice. It’s got two 400HP V8 engines capable of propelling the boat to 100km/h (62mph), and a small cabin for when that day-long jaunt inadvertently turns into a weekend away. RM Sotheby’s will offer the boat at its Fort Lauderdale sale on 29–30 March 2019. Riva and Ferrari are two words synonymous with Italy, and the auction might just seduce potential bidders into sailing from the sale straight for the Amalfi coast.
