Maurice de Mauriac and Stan Smith serve an ace limited-edition watch

The stunning watch collection created by Maurice de Mauriac in collaboration with Stan Smith is only the second time the American tennis legend has lent his name to a brand’s product, the first, of course, being the cult-classic Adidas sneaker…

At Wimbledon back in 2015, the founder of the boutique Zurich watch brand Maurice de Mauriac Daniel Dreifuss met Stan Smith, the American tennis icon and, as it turns out, keen watch collector. Much to Dreifuss’ astonishment, Smith has one of his own brand’s timepieces affixed to his wrist. A friendship kindles, as do the plans for a collaborative timepiece inspired by the duo’s shared drive for performance.

An excellent endorsement

After two years of (excuse the tennis pun) back-and-forth development with Smith himself, Maurice de Mauriac has revealed the Stan Smith Signature Watch, of which 100 will be built in green, blue and red. The figure is not a random one – during his career that spanned from 1968 to 1985, Smith amassed an incredible 100 tournament wins. The elegant stainless-steel piece features Stan Smith’s signature on the minimal dial and his official portrait (as seen on the cult-classic Adidas Stan Smith sneaker) on the sapphire crystal case back. We particularly love the lollipop seconds hands, with the circular end finished in tennis ball green. Accompanied with each watch are both NATO and rubber straps, a matching keyring and a tennis ball personally signed by Smith.

The limited-edition Maurice de Mauriac Stan Smith Signature Watch can be ordered in the Classic Driver Shop.
