Not Safe for Work: Collectables from the Playboy archives

Numerous souvenirs from the Playboy universe will go under the hammer during Wright’s design auction on 16 February 2016, including charming memorabilia from Hugh Hefner's mythical private jet…

Along with the Playboy Mansion, Hugh Hefner has brought legend status to his private DC-9, better known as Big Bunny or Hare Force One, with tales from its travels igniting the imaginations of all American teenagers in the 1960s and 1970s — exploits of which have been divulged further in one of our previous articles. In its upcoming auction, modern and contemporary auction house Wright will offer a compilation of memorabilia related to the Playboy aircraft, including miniature models of the seats, a stewardess outfit, 62 on-board black-and-white photos, Polaroid photos, drawings, and blueprints. Along with this memorabilia, listed with a pre-sale estimate of 2,000–3,000 US dollars, two additional Playboy lots will be offered (Lot 277 and 278), featuring such finds as records, graphics, tickets, catalogues, and even a real Playboy Dollar. The best thing: you do not have to hide these small frivolities in a box under the bed!
