Capture cats in the wild with a commemorative Jaguar-Leica camera

In 1998, Jaguar commissioned German camera manufacturer Leica to design a limited-edition commemorative camera celebrating the 50th anniversary of the XK120. One of the 50 examples produced is soon to go up for auction with Bonhams…

50 years, 50 made, 50mm lens

Whether you’re a Jaguar enthusiast, a Leica-lover or are simply looking for the perfect fashion accessory for the Goodwood Revival, the special-edition ‘XK50’ version of the classic Leica M6 could be just the ticket. Based on the standard M6, the classically styled body is swathed in Jaguar’s signature green Connolly leather, and paired with a collapsible 50mm lens for quick-draw capabilities. The rare piece is crowned with a celebratory engraving on the top of the body, as well as a special ‘XK xx/50’ serial number inside the accessory shoe. This example, number 24 of 50, will go up for auction at Bonhams’ ‘Scientific, Technological and Mechanical Musical Instruments’ sale on 19 May 2015 in Knightsbridge, carrying an estimate of £1,500 – £2,000.
