Snapshot, 1968: A dandy on London's Carnaby Street

We’ve looked at the roots and modern reinterpretation of the dandy elsewhere in the Classic Driver Magazine, but this image taken in 1968 attests to the impact of the early 19th Century dandy on contemporary pop culture. Despite standing on one of the English Capital’s most fashion-tolerant streets, his eccentric outfit still managed to command attention – as you’ll see from the perplexed passers-by in the background.
