Celebrating in style
Honouring not one but three special anniversaries this year, America’s largest and most revered historic racing event saw over 500 racing greats from most motorsport eras battle it out on one of the most challenging and iconic circuits in the country — Laguna Seca. Celebrating the 60th anniversary of Formula Junior, the 60th anniversary of Laguna Seca, and, of course, 70 years of Ferrari, the tarmac was filled with a world-class selection of racing heroes.
Best of the best
From pre-War sports racers to fearsome IMSA prototype racers wailing around the infamous ‘Corkscrew’ corner, the selection of exotic metal provided sheer sensory overload. The likes of BMW M1 Procars, fire-breathing Porsche 935s, peppy Datsun 240Zs, thunderous Chevrolet Camaros, and some of the finest Ferraris hammered around the track over the four-day event — a perfect partner to and a welcome release from the static displays elsewhere during Monterey Car Week.
Words will never do these incredible vehicles that graced Laguna Seca any justice, but luckily, these high-octane, high-volume pictures from our man Rémi Dargegen speak for themselves…
