There’s more than meets the eye to this restomod Range Rover

We all know that the Land Rover Defender is the perfect car to receive the restomod treatment, but what about its younger brother, the Range Rover? If ECD Auto Design’s new ‘Project Alpha’ is anything to go by, we’d go as far to say the Classic might be even better…

Outrageous opulence

There’s an undeniable menace to ECD Auto Design’s new Range Rover Classic ‘Project Alpha’. This isn’t a car you fill with beautiful women and take paddle boarding. Nope, this is more of a Guy Ritchie ,gangster’s bank heist getaway vehicle, and we love it. The two-tone exterior is an exercise in restraint, encompassing such subtle design changes as the revised front fascia and bold 16-inch wheels. And who’d have thought flat grey would work so well with the Range Rover’s brutalist lines? It’s under the bonnet where the real excitement hides, though — ECD has fitted a 6.2-litre Chevrolet V8 that develops 430hp. The ‘Project Alpha’ is outrageous opulence at its very best.
