The Renovo Coupé is a silent serpent with a brutal bite

Call it sacrilege, but this Shelby Daytona Coupé lookalike, dubbed the Renovo Coupé, is powered by – shock, horror – electricity. But the notable absence of V8 bellow is more than made up for by a staggering 1,000lb ft of torque, delivered ten times faster than the blink of an eye…

Instant delivery

Created by the Californian company Renovo Motors and based on the genuine Shelby American CSX9000 rolling chassis, the Coupé melds retro styling with ultra-modern EV technology. Two sequential axial flux motors, powered by clever, lightweight lithium ion batteries, generate 500HP, enabling the car to reach 60mph from rest in under 3.4sec. But it’s the delivery of all that power (and torque) which is most impressive – the full serving in just 37 milliseconds, meaning that you'll have to think very carefully before stamping on the throttle. The Renovo Coupé, built entirely in the U.S.A., will enter limited production next year.
