Mingle with automotive royalty at this year’s Concours of Elegance

With a world-first display of Zagato-bodied Aston Martins, a special centennial celebration for Bentley and what is arguably the most significant Ferrari in existence all confirmed, this year’s Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace promises to be the best edition yet…

Focused around a central display of 60 fabulous automobiles which form the concours competition itself, the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace has established itself as one of the most high-quality and prestigious events in the classic car calendar. And for the eighth edition, poised to take place on 6–8 September 2019, the organisers have pulled out all the stops to ensure it’s a weekend to remember.

A star-studded roll call

Star cars already confirmed in the concours itself – which, uniquely, is judged by the owners and not an external jury – include an ex-Works Ferrari 166MM Barchetta that won both the Mille Miglia and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the very first production Jaguar D-type and the legendary Bentley Speed Six ‘Blue Train’ in which Woolf Barnato raced (and beat) a famous train from Cannes to Calais back in 1930.

The picturesque and beautifully kempt gardens of Hampton Court will also play host to a display of every single Zagato-bodied Aston Martin model in this, the Milanese design studio’s centenary year. From the drop-dead gorgeous DB4GT Zagato from the 1960s to the family of contemporary Vanquish Zagatos, it will be the first time such a gathering has ever taken place.

Two for one

And if the heady cocktail of automotive treasures gets too much, title sponsor A. Lange & Söhne and a raft of other luxury brands and delicious food stalls will also be present tempt you. Why not book advance tickets now? Classic Driver readers benefit from ‘two-for-one’ on any standard tickets purchased online – all you need to do is head to this link and enter the promotional code ‘CLASSICVIP’ to redeem the offer. We look forward to hopefully meeting some of you at Hampton Court in September.
