Since the handsome GranTurismo made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2007, Maserati has sold 28,800 examples and a further 11,700 of the drop-top GranCabrio version. But all good things must come to an end and yesterday marked the final day of production before the marque’s Modena plant is updated ready to build an all-new high-performance sports car in 2020. 

All good things... 

To mark the occasion and signify its transition into an electric and autonomous future (the new GranTurismo and GranCabrio will instead be built in Turin and become the first Maseratis to embrace 100-percent electrification), the Trident marque has revealed the unique GranTurismo Zéda. Its striking paintwork was conceived by Centro Stile Maserati and transitions from a light satin finish to a bold electric blue. ‘Zéda’ simply means ‘Z’ in the Modenese dialect and symbolises the new beginnings that follow endings.
