It’s time to warm up your chequebook for Rétromobile 2018

It’s time to warm up your chequebook for Rétromobile 2018

Dry January has come and gone, and now we can finally whet our classic car whistle with the arrival of Rétromobile. The season-opener is more than an aperitif ahead of the 12-course meal of events ahead of us this year — it’s a real plat principal!

Taste tester

Like your favourite restaurant, Rétromobile never disappoints. And while the menu of events rotates over the years, you’re always guaranteed to be satisfied. This year’s international exhibitions includes a tribute to Carlo Abarth, a celebration of the 70th anniversary of Honda, an ode to Porsche sports cars, and an exhibit-sale of models from all marques that are over 30 years old and can be bought for 25,000 euros (including VAT) or less.

À la carte

After a long winter of classic car auction fasting (in Europe, at least), Rétromobile has a trio of headlining auction houses — RM Sotheby’s, Bonhams, and Artcurial — offering some fabulous machines to curb your cravings. Although, the pièce de résistance would have to be the Ferrari 166 MM Spider that was once used as a camera car in the Mille Miglia (est. 3.7–4.5m euros), which will cross the block at Place Vauban on 7 February during the RM Sotheby’s sale.

An international menu

While the stands may change over the years, we can always count on our Classic Driver dealers to provide some delectable automotive treats at the annual Parisian event. Whether you’re hankering for English, French, Italian, or German faire, our dealers will have something to quench your appetite. The full list of those exhibiting can be seen below.
