The Ice in St. Moritz has been cancelled due to the coronavirus

This weekend, The International Concours of Elegance, or The Ice for short, was due to take place in St. Moritz for the second time. Now, due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, the event has been cancelled…

We had already pulled on our gloves and set off for St. Moritz when we learned that the coronavirus has scuppered our plans. After two people tested positive for the coronavirus in the canton of Graubünden, the local government was forced on Thursday afternoon to cancel all major events in the area for the protection of the population. These events include The Ice and the Engadin Skimarathon. The ban is in place until 8 March 2020 and it is not yet certain whether The Ice will be rescheduled for a later date. That, of course, depends on the further spread of the virus, but also on the state of the frozen lake in St. Moritz. We will keep you up to date.
