Even Bonhams had difficulty coming up with an estimate for the legendary Aston Martin DBS from The Persuaders!, such is the lack of a precedent – but having recently spent a day in its company, we see why it could sell at the top end of (or perhaps beyond) its pre-sale valuation of £350,000 - £550,000. As attendees at previous Works sales at Newport Pagnell will know, much more ’brow-raising results have been achieved in the past.

A category that has proved to be a success at the last few Bonhams Aston Martin sales is that of the barn-find – and it’ll come as no surprise that a selection of ‘projects’ are included in the lotlist this time around. Or, if you prefer your Aston ‘ready-to-go’, why not take a look at the DB4 GT Zagato recreation by Bodylines, predicted to fetch £800,000 – £900,000?
