While our attention has recently been focused on Lyonheart’s 21st Century interpretation of Jaguar’s 1961 ‘E’, perhaps you'd prefer the original? A 1960s fixed-head coupé is still a thing of beauty.

This 1964 example in Opalescent Dark Blue is currently for sale at the Netherlands dealer E-type Center Europe BV. As one of the last 3.8-litre cars with an armrest on the centre console, it was originally supplied to a Mr D. P. Richter of Mountelaix, California. Its shipment was via the company’s East Coast agent, Jaguar Cars New York.

Building on the high visibility afforded the model in 2011 (the E-type’s half-century), demand for what many consider one of the most beautiful cars ever made remains strong. A FHC, in this desirable colour combination (the interior is black hide), would certainly make a stunning addition to anyone’s collection.
