Brabham returns to top-flight racing with 'crowdfunding' project

Following an absence of more than 20 years, the legendary Brabham name is set for a sensational return to top-level motor racing – with David Brabham spearheading the cutting-edge 'crowdfunding' project…

The Brabham name needs little introduction: among numerous other accolades, Sir Jack remains the only driver to have won a World Championship in a car of his own name and make.

His youngest son David – himself a class winner at Le Mans – is now managing a crowdfunding revival venture, whereby individuals become part of the decision-making community while helping towards the team’s LMP2 entry to the 2015 WEC Championship, which includes the Le Mans 24 Hours. Beyond the three-year LMP2 programme, the plan is to enter LMP1 in the fourth year – with prospective entries to the FIA Formula E Championship and ultimately the Formula 1 Championship “a consideration.”

With more than 50% of its £250,000 phase 1 goal reached just three days into the project, progress is ahead of schedule. Further details can be found at Brabham's IndieGogo page.
