Veneering perfection
Wood veneer and cars go together like bread and butter, and this outrageously cool 1985 Fiat Panda 4X4 is proof. Having recently enjoyed a no-expense spared restoration at the hands of Gulfblue Automobili, this Panda is ready to steal looks anywhere from the Alps to the French Riviera. Between the wicker roof basket, eclectic green interior, and that delightfully dinky bulbar, we can’t decide what we like most about this Italian icon. We think you'll agree, the world needs more Panda 4X4 restomods!
Green machine
While at first glance this might look like a regular, immaculately restored 1966 VW T1, underneath that classic exterior is a Tesla Model S-sourced battery pack and electric motor installed by EV Europe. The 54 hp power output matches that of a regular T1, and a range of 180km isn’t exactly mind-blowing, but it does have 200 Nm of torque, which means you could pull off a burnout with the whole family along for the ride. If that hasn’t sold you on this beautiful bus, we don’t know what will.
Newport Pagnell’s finest
This week’s source of grand touring thrills is this utterly stunning 2005 Aston Martin Vanquish S, finished in Aston Martin Racing Green, a firm favourite in the Classic Driver office. We don’t know what was in the water at Newport Pagnell when they were building the Vanquish, but we need some in our water cooler, because the Vanquish still looks just as good today as it did when it launched over two decades ago. This Vanquish S is in great condition, with a mere 15,310 miles on the odometer, making it a prime example to add to your collection.
Stocky stallion
We don’t know about you, but every year we find ourselves falling deeper in love with the stocky proportions of the Ferrari 308 GT4, and this example from 1979 is as good as you’ll find anywhere on the internet. The spec is simply perfect - that understated dark blue exterior does an excellent job of complementing this car’s real party piece: its interior. Inside you’ll find a two-tone blue velour and cream leather dream, a slightly exuberant combination that has been executed to marvellous effect on this prancing horse. Mileage sits at just 33,154 miles, so this Ferrari has plenty more good times left in the tank. It’s safe to say that we’re already extremely jealous of the next owner.
Instant classic
It’s only just over a decade old, but this 2010 997-gen 911 Sport Classic is already a car collector’s dream. Combining all the best bit’s of the 997 range with a tonne of bespoke touches, the Sport Classic is arguably the modern 911 to have if you could only pick one. Just 250 of the Sport Classic Grey beauties left Stuttgart, making them incredibly difficult to find, especially with only 9,383 miles. If you’ve got a 911 Sport Classic-shaped hole in your collection, then you better act quick or forever hold your peace, because it’s highly unlikely that these modern classics will come down in price any time soon.
