For the first time in 30 years, the small town of Bernbeuren was alive with the roar of classic motorcycles, sidecars, and cars, as racing machines of yesteryear took to the twisting turns of the Aubergrennen for a weekend full of high-octane thrills…

Riders on the storm

After 17 attempts to bring historic racing back to Auerberg, the weekend of 16 September finally saw the flag drop at the inaugural Auerberg Klassik, with hundreds of drivers and thousands of spectators in attendance. Rare two-wheeled machinery from 1925 to 1979 tackled the three-kilometre stretch in fine style, with classic car and motorbikes gathering to witness. With displays from BMW Museum Munich and the Hockenheim Motorsport Museum and even a ‘Best Dressed’ competition for those in period dress, the Auerberg Klassik has shown itself as one not to miss — here’s another one for the 2018 event calendar…
