Calling Gentleman Riders: Ducati 848 Challenge returns in Spring 2012

The Ducati 848 Challenge series is popular among gentleman riders – and this spring will see the dawn of a new season, with some places on the track still spare.

The one-make series is fully backed by Ducati UK, and offers both drivers and sponsors significant exposure thanks to the strong event turnouts (up to 50,000 spectators have been known to attend) and satellite TV coverage. As well as visiting six UK circuits (Brands Hatch, Snetterton, Oulton Park, Cadwell Park, Donington Park and Silverstone) while shadowing the British Superbikes, the Championship also has two now-customary overseas rounds: Assen (Netherlands) and Misano (Italy).

Twenty-five riders have already signed up for the season – which gets underway at Brands Hatch over the Easter weekend – but there are still grid spaces available for someone wanting a shot at the Championship. But beware; you’ll be going up against the 848 Challenge’s 2010 Champions, as well as a clutch of former British Supersport riders, not to mention some enthusiastic youngsters.
