Beschreibung

The Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint was a large grand touring coupé which could seat four adults in comfort over long journeys at high speeds. As such, it did not suffer unfair comparisons with other models in the Alfa Romeo range as none of them could be directly compared with it. The car inherited the sharp, modern styling of its predecessor, the 2000 Sprint, and that certainly contributed to its being the top seller in the 2600 range. That shape had been the result of Giorgetto Giugiaro's first major project as head designer for Carrozzeria Bertone, and is arguably one of the most influential designs in the history of automotive styling.

This specific Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint Carrozzeria Bertone was manufactured on 27 September 1962 and sold on the 1st of October 1962 to Alfa Romeo importer Louwman & Parqui, Holland.

In 1979 the car was bought by an Alfa Romeo enthusiast who started a nice restoration of the car keeping the original leather interior, which still is in great condition after 60 years!

The restoration of the car was finished in 1992 and a valuation report is still with the car. The engine was rebuilt. As the owner would keep the car until 2016 so nearly 40 years he did not keep much of the restoration but he recalls that the chassis and body was in very good condition apart from the bottom of the doors and the metal below the rear bumper.

The car was originally finished in Grigio Milano but he dicided to change to the elegant colour of Petrolblue which the car still is. When he sold the car the mileage was only 95.093 km from new. Actual mileage is 95.798 km.

The car is in a gorgeous condition and apart from some blistering in the paint of the engine bonnet the quality of the paint and panel fit and chrome is just lovely. The engine bay is nicely detailed and the car looks in a very good condition underneath.

Since 2016 the car has been in the current enthusiastic ownership but is hardly used so the car needs a new custodian. Are you so fortunate?

Price is 57.500 Euro (these cars are so underrated!).

Dutch registered from new. The Alfa Romeo 2600 has a very nice 2.6 litre 6 cylinder delivering 145 bhp and sufficient torque, mated to a silky smooth 5 speed gearbox, enough for 200 km/h.
