Lamborghini Jalpa P350 3.5 V8
The Lamborghini Jalpa is a sports car model from the Italian car manufacturer of the same name. The model is the latest development in a line of V8 models (with the exception of the Urus SUV) that started in 1970 with the Lamborghini Urraco and via the very short built Lamborghini Silhouette P300 (1976-1977) eventually culminated in the Lamborghini Jalpa in 1981. was introduced as new 'Baby Lambo' as a cheaper alternative to the Lamborghini Countach.
It is not surprising that the Lamborghini Jalpa eventually got just such pronounced extended wheel arches and a clearly present front spoiler as the Countach models from after 1978. The unmistakable family link between the two models can therefore not be denied.
The Jalpa was the most powerful of the small Lamborghini models and was equipped with a V8 engine with a capacity of 3500 cc. It was powered by a dogleg five-speed manual transmission. The car was intended as a counterpart to the Porsche 911 and the Ferrari 308-328 GTB/GTS series and was also positioned as such. The car is originally factory fitted with a removable targa roof and in that respect comparable to the Ferrari 308-328 GTS models.
The Lamborghini Jalpa is a real rarity; only 410 of the model were built in Sant'Agatha Bolognese between the launch year of 1981 and the year 1988, when Chrysler decided to stop production. There are only a handful of copies in the Netherlands, only a few with a valid MOT, of which this is one (valid until April 6, 2023).
This black Lamborghini Jalpa P350 was factory delivered to a customer in Austria in 1986. The car is still completely in the first paint in the color Nero Tenebre and has never been repainted. The cognac-colored carpet and beige interior with black piping are also still completely in original and original condition. The car had a rear spoiler from new, however, this was removed by the previous owner but is still with the car. The most special thing about this car is that it is one of the few copies that was originally delivered from the factory with the optional gold-coloured wide Countach 'telephone disc' wheels. The rear tires are therefore of the widest type Pirelli P Zero in size 345.
The car comes with the original manual with instruction manual, various invoices, as well as a repair manual that is specific to the Lamborghini Jalpa 3.5 V8 models. Also present are various spare parts, such as the original air filter housings, as well as the rear spoiler (removed by the previous owner) and a complete rear muffler.
The Jalpa has been in the Netherlands since 1999 and has been in the hands of the current owner since 2018. The car has participated in various old-timer and Lamborghini-related (club) events in recent years and could be admired at the Concorso Italiano at Classic Park in Boxtel and at the Concours d'Elegance at Soestdijk Palace in 2019.
