Beschreibung
The Model A carried Ford into the post-Model T era with modernized styling and mechanical specification. Produced in the US between the 1927 and 1931 model years, the Model A was built in eight different body styles by the end of its cycle. In all, over 4.8 million examples of the Model A were built in nine different countries.
This lovely late-production 1931 Model A Deluxe Cabriolet was purchased in 1997 from The Old Car Company, and later became a favorite runabout of Richard Donner at his home on Orcas Island, Washington. Part of the San Juan Islands, Orcas provided Donner with the perfect environment for a prewar car such as this, offering opportunities for motoring at a relaxed pace. Donner would often explore the island with friends such as Eric Idle, Joe Walsh, and Jeff Lynn, all of whom have enjoyed the charms of this Model A.
Offered in deluxe trim and corresponding three-tone color combination of yellow, brown, and black, this Model A is in driver condition, having been restored during a prior ownership. Whether actively used as-is or treated as the basis for a refurbishment, this Model A stands as a fantastic example of one of America’s most successful models.
