Beschreibung
In 1926, Cadillac began the development of a new, "multi-cylinder" car. Over the next few years a number of prototype cars were built and tested, until the 1930 New York City's automobile show. There was finally introduced a new top-of-the-line model, the Cadillac V16, which was also first V16 powered car to reach production status in the United States.
For both its visual and technical attributes the V16 itself is a thing of beauty. The heart of the Cadillac V16 was of course its magnificent engine, delivering 175bhp. Even more impressive was its all important low speed torque: 434 Nm at 1,500 rpm, which assured velvet-like low speed operation. Thanks to a hydraulic valve-silencing device, the V16's overhead valves were well mannered and quite which set new benchmarks for smooth, silent and superbly impressive performance.
This Cadillac was completed in March 1930 and supplied with Fleetwood Dual-cowl Phaeton body. It is an early, matching numbers example of exceptional car in wonderful, running condition. The car is finished in black paint, while the interior is trimmed with contrasting red leather and all period details and instruments.
