The Buick Model H-Six-49 is a big, roomy, open car for accommodating seven passengers in comfort, with a range of service in keeping with its powerful valve-in-head 242-cid, 60-hp inline six-cylinder engine. The long wheelbase and completeness of details makes for comfort and convenience. The car is divided amidships by a cowl into which folding seats disappear when not being pushed into service. These extra seats are arranged to offer liberal space for all backseat area occupants.
The Buick received a restoration approximately 13 years ago. It has a distinctive split-screen windshield; wooden spoke wheels, wood-rimmed steering wheel, Boyce Moto Meter, rear-mounted spare, whitewall tires, trunk behind the spare and an overall look of early automotive strength and usefulness. For 1919, Buick had reached the pinnacle of their early engineering development.
For the 1919 model year, Buick produced a total of 119,310 automobiles. Of this number, only 6,795 are reported as being the H-49 seven-passenger touring; it is logical to conclude that far fewer remain amongst us.
