Beschreibung
Produced by the British Motor Corporation between 1956 and 1959, the 100/6
(along with
the 3000) was known as 'The Big Healey' and with its stream lined elegant body was certainly was one of
the best looking sports cars of the era. Originally fitted with a relatively modest 2.6 litre 6 cylinder
engine which gave 117bhp, the previous owner of this particular car decided that the chassis could do
with a bit more oomph!
Now fitted with a full spec Ford 289 V8 - as originally fitted
to both the Ford Mustang and AC Cobra - this ex California car retains the great looks of the 100/6 but
brings an added dimension in terms of performance. The transmission and rear axle from an AC Cobra have
also been fitted to make sure that the power train matches the significant increase in both torque and
power.
The result is a very hairy 'Big Healey' that redefines the car's performance
and puts it straight in to AC Cobra territory. The car has recently had fitted both a new 'Dennis Welch'
steering box as well as new discs on the front and new drum brakes on the rear.
Now
said to drive superbly, it comes to the sale with a fresh MOT and a great opportunity for some wind in
the hair motoring this coming Spring.
