Developed to recall the unbelievable success and ongoing following that restore and preserve original Toyota FJ series trucks and SUVs, the FJ Cruiser offered a retro-look with modern amenities on a mid-sized SUV platform. Offered from 2006 and running through the final year of production in 2014, the FJ Cruiser blends the rugged aspects of the FJ40 with the more luxury appointments of the Land Cruiser. Known for their durability, reliability, and rugged features, Toyota trucks division offered important platform engineering benefits as well as drivetrain, suspension, and brakes all of which were hand-picked for use in the FJ Cruiser final design.

This Toyota was purchased new in Henderson, Nevada in June 2014. The first owner retained this FJ giving it regularly scheduled maintenance and services until September 2015 when it was taken into dealer inventory and sold with approximately 13,000 miles. The second owner purchased this FJ in November 2015, bringing it to Washington state where it has remained since continuing the history of regular services and moderate use. In July 2018, the third and current owner. Bought this FJ and added to their small collection of adventure vehicles. Sadly the overall condition and low mileage led them to not use it off road as originally intended, as the truck was, and is, just too nice.

In February 2022 at 35,022 miles, this FJ was given a general inspection, an oil and filter change. Other services in recent years include brake fluid flush, transmission fluid, differential fluids, as well as the full factory 30K services. With just 35,300 miles currently displayed, this FJ has been very well maintained and serviced, has no accidents on record, and all factory matched body panels retain the original factory paint other than one rear panel that had a minor dent that cracked the paint and required repaint (as opposed to PDR). Today this FJ exhibits all the traits of a properly serviced vehicle that can be confidently used in a range of driving conditions. The paint is in excellent condition with vivid gloss applied over excellent factory original body panels, as identified by their unique matching VIN markings on each door, hood, and tailgate door. The finish has great detailing including the distinctive retro grille, inboard round headlights, signature taillights, and factory finished, rugged lower panel body armor. All glass and lenses are in excellent condition as are the unique emblems and distinctive features including the side view mirrors, roof rack, and rear mounted spare tire. The stance is spot on with purposeful presence and rugged intentions even when standing still, augmented by iconic BF Goodrich A/T tires (fitted August 2021). The suspension, disc brakes, and modern drivetrain lend confidence to both long range cruising and outdoor adventuring.

The interior offers a great balance of durable materials, comfort features, and purposeful trim with welcome convenience appointments and a great retro FJ vibe. JBL sound system, protective rear storage cladding, fold down rear seats, and cold blowing AC, all contribute to the great package offered in the FJ Cruiser. The triple instrument center cluster houses a compass, inclinometer, and digital temp gauge monitoring outdoor conditions. The rare 6-speed manual gearbox is flanked by the 4WD lever engagement just above the convenient dual cupholders in the center console, blending purposeful driving with refreshing convenience. The condition of the interior is excellent throughout with no significant interior flaws and great comfort for four adults even on long trips.

The engine compartment has been both cosmetically and mechanically maintained to a very high level. The finishes are factory correct, all factory emblems and markings are in place and the engine components reflect factory correct details as installed when new. The underside reveals a nicely detailed and clean chassis and absolutely no signs of structural modifications, damage, or intrusive metal corrosion. The suspension, disc brakes, and specially rugged profile tires are perfectly suited to the character of the original FJ and very much at home on the Cruiser, ready for off-road use including a trailer receptacle suitable for towing boats, jet skis, or recreational ATVs.
