French title
Le Mans, an English race conducted in France, this adage applies so well to the history of the most famous endurance race. In the 1930s, one of the players in this event was a small English manufacturer based in Coventry, namely Singer. No less than 26 Singers took part in the Hanselle race between 1933 and 1949, often finishing in the top 10 overall as well as on the podium in the 1000 and 1500 cc categories! Discreetly, the little Englishwoman made people talk about her, about her reliability and her performance. It had become the number one selling point for the company, which could boast of a solid and sporty mechanic, with a particularly qualitative level of equipment for the time, but above all, for the price!
This Singer Nine Sports Le Mans was registered on July 5th 1935. Chances are that it spent its life in France as evidenced by a precise registration date. The car is presented under a white body with a slight patina. Its four-seat interior features burgundy leather upholstery. The dashboard has all the necessary elements for driving. The Singer is equipped with the MG Midget code 12V engine of 1275 cc, a displacement in line with the original one of the Nine Sports but more reliable, less expensive to maintain and just as efficient. Its current owner also used this car on circuit, as in Angoulême in 2019, so the little English car is equipped with a circuit breaker. We also note a very good condition of the running gear, tires and rims.
This is a nice cyclecar, an ideal ticket for rallies or pre-war car races."
