The Dauphine Gordini was produced from 1958 (type R1091) until 1968 (R1095). Like a good bottle, each passing year has made it more flavourful and refined.
The specifications: 4 doors, 4 seats, a large boot, a maximum of parts taken from the 4CV and a design in keeping with the times.
The Renault Dauphine was already a success even before the Gordini wizard got involved. Released in 1956, the Dauphine received Amédée's care from 1958 with the R1091 type developing 40 horsepower. If he is nicknamed the Sorcerer, it is because Amédée Gordini succeeded in transforming a wise sedan into a sports car. In addition to the increase in horsepower, this tuner completely redesigned the manual gearbox (with 4 gears), the suspension... The behaviour is deeply modified. The handling is better, the road behaviour more playful and the engine accelerates more strongly.
This Dauphine Gordini R1091 was registered on 31 July 1958 and has 70,987km on the clock. It is therefore from the first year of production. It was purchased by its current owner in the late 1990's after a complete restoration and is now in a beautiful state of presentation. The paintwork shows no major defects and the interior, with its original upholstery, is also in very good condition! On the road, the car behaves normally, the engine runs smoothly, the gears go smoothly and the running gear does not show any particular weaknesses.
It is therefore a rare model that we are offering for sale today, all in a superb state of restoration!
