The 911 presented here was produced on the 31st of May 1965, making it one of the very first 911’s ever built by Porsche.
With well over 1 million Porsche 911’s made since the first cars rolled off the production line, an early 1965 specimen is a true piece of automotive history.
The car presented here is a very solid original 1965 model year 911 with matching numbers engine.
Very early 911’s had many distinctive features, like 4 screw grilles, 5 green instruments, a wooden dashboard, and a wood/aluminium steering wheel.
The car retains all these features and rides on 05/1964 dated wheels.

The interior appears to be mostly original, although the carpets have definitely been replaced sometime in the past.
In the front, the seats are showing their age, but are still usable and comfortable.
Even if retrimmed in the future, we would keep the covers with the car for its history file.

The matching numbers engine has benefited from a recent rebuild with all new seals. It is leak-free and healthy. The only early feature that is no longer with the car, is the pair of Solex P40i carburettors. These have been replaced with 40IDA Webers at some point.
This is a very important early 1965 model year 911, with matching numbers, that is ready to be driven and enjoyed as-is or a perfect straightforward candidate for a concourse restoration in its original colour.
