Beschreibung
Guide price: £34000 - £38000.

Under current private ownership since 1995

Matching numbers with an impressive history file

UK delivered, G50 gearbox and now showing just over 91,000 miles

In a classic colour combination and competitively guided with a fresh MOT

The 3.2 Carrera is revered as the ultimate development of the original 911 that first appeared in 1963. These final cars (before being replaced by the more complicated 964) were the most flexible and usable of Butzi Porsche's original design. Launched in 1984, and reviving the ‘Carrera' name for the first time since 1977, these were the ultimate 1980's sports cars. The all-alloy flat-6 engine, which had been fuel injected since 1971, received a final stretch to 3,164cc, producing a torque-rich 231 bhp - enough to propel the lithe and slippery coupé to over 150 mph, with 0-60 mph coming up in 5.6 seconds. Cars built from September 1986 onwards were fitted with the more user-friendly G50 Getrag gearbox, but all 3.2 Carreras feature galvanized bodies, which together with Porsche's legendary build quality, ensure that these classics are long-lasting.

This 911 Carrera Sport was first registered on 01.09.1987, having been supplied to a local GP by the Newcastle-On-Tyne main dealer. Our vendor purchased it in November 1995 from Michael Ticehurst of Henley-On-Thames, trading as Finlay Gorham. The V5 records six keepers before our current owner - one of which, he understands, was accounted for by a husband-to-wife transfer following a marital break-up. Our generous vendor is also prepared to leave the distinctive Registration Number NBZ 7911 on the vehicle. There is a letter in the history file from Porsche Cars GB, attesting to the fact that the car is 'matching numbers' in respect of VIN, Engine, Gearbox, Colour, Trim specification and the current mileage indicated shows just over 91,000. ‘NBZ7911’ has the desirable G50 'box / hydraulic clutch combination. and, in fact, has a 964 clutch-pack fitted, providing a somewhat lighter pedal and much-improved release-bearing. With the car is a huge history file detailing every penny spent on the car since it came into current ownership. This includes the replacement clutch-pack (as above) the majority of both the rigid and flexi oil-pipes, and a replacement front-wing oil-cooler. Pretty much every piece of brake-pipe has been replaced, including Goodridge braided-stainless for the flexis. The current owner serviced the car less than 700 miles ago including oil, filter, spark-plugs, valve-clearances and all associated gaskets, Nyloc nuts etc. and he has been fastidious about carrying out this work every 5,000 miles throughout his ownership. The history file also includes main dealer service history prior to his ownership and evidence of considerable expenditure on replacement parts during this period. All the original books, tools and both keys are with the car and it has an unused space-saver spare tyre which has been recently tested for pressure retention. The car is fitted with a Thatcham-approved swipe-type immobiliser and a non-standard Piranha alarm system, which allows remote-locking.

The Carrera will come to sale with a fresh 12 months MOT and, if you are in the market for the classic Porsche experience, this 3.2 Carrera Sport, at this guide, seems a perfect fit.
