About this Collectable

The 991 GT3 Mk2 is one of the last cars of its kind, with a high-revving naturally aspirated engine and a manual gearbox. This specific example has the Clubsport package and is finished in fitting Racing Yellow. What makes it truly unique is the fact that is has covered only 49 km from new.

A hardcore naturally aspirated sports car with a manual gearbox is a dying breed, unfortunately. Ferraris and Lamborghinis with a manual gearbox are a thing of the past. Porsche had already stopped supplying a manual gearbox in the GT3 as well. The 991 GT3 Mk1 was only available with PDK. There was still the manual 911 R, but that was a limited edition which sold out almost immediately.

Thanks to demanding Porsche clients (and a listening ear in Stuttgart), Porsche decided to bring back the manual with the facelift of the 991 GT3 in 2017. Together with the naturally aspired 4.0 liter boxer engine, this makes the GT3 a true purist car. And there are very few of those left.

Whereas the 991 GT3 Mk1 had a 3.8 engine, the Mk2 got a 4.0 liter. Just like the GT3 RS and the 911 R. It produces 500 hp and the rev limiter intervenes at a spine tingling 9.000 rpm. Pure sensation.

With the facelift, the GT3 has received many other upgrades. For example, to increase maneuverability Porsche fitted speed-sensitive rear-axle steering. In terms of appearance, the GT3 Mk2 can be recognized by the new headlights, taillights, front bumper, air intakes and diffuser which makes the GT3 look even more aggressive.

This GT3 was delivered new in 2018 by Porsche Zentrum Niederrhein and in stunning Racing Yellow. It is not only fitted with a manual gearbox, but also with the Clubsport package. That means a roll cage, six-point seat belts and a fire extinguisher, ready to (finally) participate in a trackday.

What makes this particular GT3 a true Collectable is that it is brand new. Since delivery to it's owner in 2018, it has covered only 49 kilometres. Is this a once in a lifetime opportunity?

Our opinion

Where do we start? We can be brief about the 991 GT3 Mk2, it is fantastic. This is the last real GT3 according to Porsche enthusiasts. Atmospheric and howling up to 9,000 rpm, this one being the much wanted Clubsport version. The internet is full of raving videos and articles, enough for an evening of Porsche pleasure.

But what makes this Racing Yellow GT3 Mk2 unique is the mileage, combined with the fact that the Porsche is registered on Dutch licence plates. After all, the owner intended to enjoy it. Unfortunately, we see too often that exclusive cars without registration immediately disappear into a collection. This of course saves VAT and/or BPM (Dutch luxury tax), but owners risk not being able to register the car ever again due to changing emmission regulations.

We assume this GT3 may disappear into a collection, but if the new owner decides to start enjoying his new Porsche and wants to take a few mountain passes, he can.
