At the end of the war, the French car industry was close to ruin. Unlike many other manufacturers, Peugeot decided not to restart production of a slightly modernized pre-war model, but to develop a completely new model: the 203. The utility versions were equipped with a chassis whose wheelbase was lengthened to 2.78 m. The rear suspensions are now semi-elliptical springs. With its small American look, the 203 has a line that will contribute to its success. Its two-body shape and its fastback stern evoke the American interior.
The car we present is in good general condition and runs regularly. The black paint and the sober grey interior are a perfect match. The period fittings are present, and our test drive showed that the car ran smoothly and was ready to eat up the miles of national roads."
