This R56 is a rare Factory John Cooper Works, as stated in the registration, with a 211hp engine and considerable modifications compared to the versions equipped with the John Cooper Works kit then available on the sales network. The Action Chili trim is extremely comprehensive. Supplied with all manuals, it is in perfect condition for its 15 years.
Mechanics regularly maintained and cared for and in perfect working order. 16V direct injection engine, compared to the standard Cooper or John Cooper Works kit, Factory JCW has a specific turbocharger, with overboost, oversized exhaust manifold and exhaust system, specific engine management, and EDLC limited slip differential. It was the first BMW car to be equipped with Dynamic Traction Control to guarantee a truly sporty drive, especially in the bends.
Only a few examples were produced, the R56 was – at least in terms of size – the last true Mini of the BMW era, before the range expanded with ever-larger cars and bodies of various shapes.
