History:

The car was an export vehicle and was delivered to Daimler Benz of North America, Rockefeller Center New York, Fifth Avenue on the 8th October 1959. There is only one copy of the car card which shows the engine and chassis number. The original colour was 356 light blue. There is a certificate from Mercedes-Benz from 01/02/2007 in which the identity of the car is confirmed. The vehicle then went to Munich, where it was registered on 10th September 2001 and deregistered on 28th August 2003.

Mr Immo Warnecke from the company IW-Classic GmbH, Leipzig, then acquired the vehicle, which he restored between October 2003 and February 2004. The restorer has pictures of the restoration.

The vehicle was purchased by the current owner from IW-Classic GmbH on 13th September 2006 and has been in his possession ever since. In April 2007, the vehicle was once again thoroughly overhauled by the company IW-Classic and restored.

Restoration/maintenance work was initially carried out by the company Günter Lehmann, Neuhaus/Pegnitz, and later by Oldtimerservice Heydemann, Regenstauf. Mr Heydemann would be happy to provide information on the vehicle. Around €80,000 have been invested in restoration and repairs. Repair and maintenance invoices for over €70,000 are available.
