1970 MINI MARCOS

If Baudouin Lempereur bought this car, it is for at least two reasons: first he dreamed of this small special on a Mini base, and then it had been repaired in 1994- 1995 by a friend of the family, Emile Businaro, whose restoration workshop was in Châtelet, Belgium. However, with a height of 1.92m, Baudouin Lempereur quickly noticed that it was difficult for him to find a comfortable driving position, so much so that he practically did not drive with the car. Even today the fiberglass shell is very healthy, without cracks, and the car displays an unmistakable charm in its electric blue shade. It benefited from equipment to facilitate "leisure" racing, such as Sparco bucket seats, a special GT steering wheel and a Lucas tachometer placed in front of the driver. Baudouin Lempereur had the dashboard fitted out in fabric, the interior receiving a carpet. The engine is of course an unnumbered 4-cylinder Mini, from a Mini, which is aspirated by a Weber 40 DCOE carburetor.
During the reconditioning of the car, the restorer found that the chassis numbers were illegible. He therefore had them struck again by the importer Marcos in Belgium; this operation is confirmed by a certificate from Marcos Belgium, dated June 1994. Sold with a Belgian certificate of conformity, this Mini Marcos is a very attractive small car, original, and promises great moments of driving pleasure.
