"Shown at the October 1966 Earls Court Motor Show alongside the technically advanced four-wheel drive FF, the Touring of Milan-designed Interceptor was quite a sensation and received much praise. The fact Jensen had, in the space of a year, produced two completely new models was also outstanding, particularly as the two companies involved in the project were 680 miles apart. The original design, penned by Touring of Milan, was taken to Vignale of Turin who had the capability to produce the car in far greater numbers than Touring. Fully trimmed and painted bodyshells were then delivered from Italy for assembly at West Bromwich by October 1966. Both new cars had the 330bhp, Chrysler V8 engine coupled to a TorqueFlite three-speed automatic gearbox and fashionable Rostyle wheels were fitted.
This fabulous Jensen Interceptor was originally registered on 29th December 1967. The current vendor commissioned a total nut and bolt restoration which has taken five years and cost £85,000. The net result of this substantial investment is a Jensen that presents in the highest possible order. The body was stripped and sent to EFD Coachworks where any areas showing any sign of corrosion were cut out and refabricated. The metallic grey paintwork is finished to a very high standard as is the burgundy leather interior. Open the bonnet and the 6276cc engine is gleaming having been rebuilt. Start the engine and the evocative sound of a powerful V8 cannot fail to impress. Supplied with a V5C registration document together with a good history folder. The condition and quality of this outstanding Jensen must be seen to be fully appreciated.
