Beschreibung

The Jaguar XK140, introduced in 1954, made significant changes to the outgoing XK120. The engine was moved forward 3" and the cowl and steering wheel were raised 1", increasing comfort and headroom. The redesigned XK received larger bumpers, now connected to the chassis, and a bold, cast-aluminum grille with fewer bars that improved cooling. Rack-and-pinion steering made the car more controllable, while anti-roll bars were increased in diameter for stiffer cornering. New J headlights could be paired with optional twin fog lights. The hood and trunk were crowned with chrome strips and medallions, celebrating Le Mans victories and aimed at American buyers.

The Roadster on offer is a rare US-market MC model that was fitted with wire wheels, dual exhausts, fog lights, and the 210 bhp C-Type head for only $295 over the base $3,745 price. This car has recently undergone a comprehensive ground-up restoration and is finished in an attractive dark blue with a tan leather interior. The Jaguar has seen very little use since its restoration was completed and today it makes a strong presentation in all respects, even down to the small details, such as a proper tool kit and owner’s manual.

A lovely example of the improved second-generation XK, this rare MC Roadster is ready to take its new owner on a journey to the ultimate in open-air motoring.
