Beschreibung
"The first XJ was launched in 1968, a designation which has been used for successive Jaguar flagship models ever since and was also the last Jaguar saloon to have had the input of Sir William Lyons, the company's founder. The XJ6, using 2.8 litre and 4.2 litre straight six-cylinder versions of Jaguar's renowned XK engine, replaced most of Jaguar's saloons which, in the 1960s, had expanded to four separate ranges. Power-assisted steering and leather upholstery were standard on the 2.8 litre De Luxe and 4.2 litre models. An unusual feature, inherited from the Jaguar Mk. X and S-Type, was the provision of twin fuel tanks positioned on each side of the boot and filled using two separately lockable filler caps.
This super stylish Jaguar was originally registered on 15th April 1976. The car appears to be in good all round condition showing no real signs of corrosion in all the usual places. As a base model 3.4 litre Jaguar, this car was fitted with automatic transmission as a factory option. The velour trim was standard and indeed shows very little sign of wear. Wind-up windows are still on the car; electric windows were an expensive cost option on this model. We are advised by the vendor she drives well; these Series II examples are full of character and charm. Offered for sale without reserve.
Guide price £9,000-£12,000
