Our Ford Thunderbird, chassis no. 340601901, is from the second year from 1955 to 1957, the first generation of T-bird.
The car was registered new, in Italy, in March 16th 1956. It was registered to ‘Innocenti, Società Generale per l'industria Meccanica e Metallurgica’.
It is believed that the car was intended for the personal use of Luigi Innocenti. Son of Ferdinando, graduated as an engineer in 1948, entered the family business as a technician and member of the administration board in 1949 and then, following the hierarchy, he ended up assuming the mantle of vice president in 1958. He became president upon the death of his father in 1966, up until 1971, when he decided to sell the company.
The Ford Thunderbird was therefore mainly used for ‘rides’ and has its original plates MI****** to this day.
The car is in its original turquoise colour, specifically for 1956 the ‘L - Peacock Blue’, and has interiors in bicolour vinyl ‘Dark Peacock - White’.
Intended for exportation, with speedometer in km, it was originally equipped with the optional motor, of 312 c.i. for 215 hp, with manual gearbox.
The car is in good overall condition.
Excellently preserved, the mechanism is in order and has been subject to maintenance and fine tuning.
