Bird’s-eye maple was a rare find, and Mr. Ford would not allow pieces to be used until a sufficient amount had been collected to complete an entire car. Once finished, he would reward a favored dealer or a special friend with a wagon of unmatched beauty.

This 1947 V-8 Super Deluxe has been restored with similar bird’s-eye maple timbers, which exhibit a shimmering depth to the grain. Joining the consignor’s collection in 2003, its restoration was completed by the widow of its former owner and still presents beautifully today. Finished in a metallic version of Maize Yellow, the presentation of this Woodie is simply superb. Inside, three rows of benches provide comfortable seating for eight.
