Beschreibung

Built from the ground up by legendary hot rod builder Roy Brizio, this full-fendered 1934 Ford Roadster was constructed using a subtle blend of all-steel, stock roadster body components and state-of-the-art mechanicals.

Painted Oxblood with a balance of tan accents, seen in the wheels, pinstriping, upholstery, and chopped top, the seemingly classic appearance of this roadster belies several modern powertrain upgrades. Beneath the hood, a Weber-carbureted Ford Racing 392 cid engine, producing 430 hp, has been mated to a five-speed Tremec manual gearbox and a Kugel High-Boy quick-change rear end with independent suspension. An upgraded four-wheel disc brake system, wide wire wheels, and coil-spring front suspension ensure modern-day drivability.

Even with such modern additions, the outward appearance of the car provides a consistent impression of a classic hot rod, including the modern frame retaining a stock profile. This seamless integration further accentuates the thoughtfully restrained use of chrome, as well as the attention given the engine’s aluminum heads and stainless-steel exhaust.

Commissioned by a discerning collector and built with a cost-no-object directive by Roy Brizio Street Rods, this outstanding, high-quality roadster is a showcase for the talents of renowned specialists like Sid Chavers, who trimmed the upholstery, and Sherm’s Custom Plating, which meticulously finished the chrome and brightwork. This Brizio ’34 Roadster’s balance of classic and modern, as well as the complete consideration given to finishes and accents, is illustrative of the type of harmony achieved by a master craftsman.
