Iconic manual V12 GT

The spiritual successor to the Ferrari Daytona, launched in 1996, the 550 was Ferrari's much awaited return to the classic V12 front engine GT recipe.

The new 5.5 litre V12 engine produced 485 bhp at 7000 rpm and when paired to the 6 speed manual transmission resulted in performance figures of 0-60 in 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 199 mph. The model's 50/50 weight distribution resulted in superb handling dynamics and the car soon gained a reputation as a thrilling old-school muscular GT which also had remarkably practical and usable attributes.

Today the 550 Maranello is rightly reverred as a modern classic and the combination of a naturally aspirated V12 coupled to the legendary Ferrari open gate manual box presents a traditional analogue driving experience which is no longer available in today's model line-up.

Our car #19256

Delivered new in 2000 to Ferrari F1 technical director Ross Brawn in the year that Schumacher won the Drivers’ Championship and Ferrari the Constructors Championship, this car was exquisitely specified in TdF Blue with stunning tan leather including the quilted rear parcel shelf. Ross enjoyed the car for 3 years before he sold it to another collector of renown - the musician Rod Stewart who kept it for a year before selling to the original supplying dealer - Maranello Concessionaires.

The car was then sold to Mr Dolphin who offered a Ferrari 328 GTS in part exchange. From 2004 the car was looked after by ex-Maranello Egham Ferrari specialist - Neal Lucas. In fact after 4 years of ownership when Mr Dolphin wanted to sell the car, Neal Lucas offered the car to Adrian Hamilton who went on to look after the car for 11 years. During Adrian's ownership the car was treated to the highly desirable and effective upgrade of Ferrari Enzo wheels and brakes - supplied to him direct by Maranello Concessionaires. The original wheels and tyres are supplied with the car.

The car comes with a fully documented service history - with all service records on file together with MOT certificates to warrant the car's mileage.

A stunning example of a 550 in arguably the best colours and becoming hard to find in such superb condition.
