One of the main stars of the Paris Motor Show in 1975, the new Ferrari 308 GTB styled by the Pininfarina design department is without question one of the most emblematic designs of the Prancing Horse, with its inspiration drawn from the lines of the 512 BB and the Dino 246 GT. Named 308 (“30” for 3.0 litres engine capacity and “8” for 8 cylinders), this model used the chassis of the Dino 308 GT4 but with a wheelbase shortened by 21 cm and it had the same 255 bhp engine. With a dry sump engine allowing a particularly lowslung, compact and sleek shape, the 308 GTB immediately won the hearts of all Ferrari lovers and car enthusiasts in general. In September 1977, at the Frankfurt show, a convertible version of the 308 GTS was launched, which filled in the gap that had been left three years earlier by the production end of the 246 GTS. Pininfarina also used the same concept of a detachable roof that could be stowed behind the seats. In comparison with the GTB, the GTS has mechanical differences with a wet-sump lubrication system and two ignition distributors instead of just one.

The model offered was registered for the first time on 1st July 1982 and has 99889 km on the odometer. It has been sold new in Italy and his now in a nice original condition. This car has benefited of followed maintenance over the years, and a detailing has been done on the body which in order to restore the radiance of the original color. A set of maintenance and body repair invoices will come with the file and a duplicate guarantee certificate attesting the maintenance and care the car has received since March 1999. Inside, the upholstery is original, with the leather in good condition and shows a nice patina, the carpets are clean and not threadbare. The air-conditioning system is working well and the removable Targa top is impeccable. The car is fitted with almost new Michelin Pilot Sport tires combined with Ferrari 328 wheels, which gives it a more modern appearance. Its elegant Pininfarina design is timeless, and this attractive estimate should be the one and only reason to buy this car !
