Delivered new in Brussels to the dealer Beherman-Demoen, this 4-seat Facel III coupé was first registered on 13 January 1964. Finished in metallic red with a black interior, we know from the Amicale Facel that it was originally intended to be supplied to SIDAM, the dealer in Neuilly-sur-Seine. It is not really known why this change occurred. Its first owner registered it (as 0427G) on 17 July 1964, before selling it to Madame Danielle van Meldert, who kept it for more than 40 years. She used it regularly for the first few years, but it was gradually laid up and eventually fell into oblivion. The car was then sold to a Dutch collector who intended to restore it, but a medical problem forced him to part with it. Francis Staub then acquired it in 2014.
A start was therefore made on restoring the car several years ago. The car is complete, externally and internally. The Volvo B18B engine is present with all its ancillaries, as are the gearbox (with overdrive) and brakes. The interior is in fairly good condition. The seats, frames and leather are relatively clean and could be retained with a bit of work and some leather dressing. All the dashboard instruments are present and the optional clock is fitted. The interior accessories and the exterior fittings in chrome-plated steel, such as the bumpers, radiator grille and Megalux headlamps, are present and in good condition. With a careful restoration, this elegant Facel III could be put back on the road without too much difficulty. With the production number 4210, it was one of the last Facel IIIs to leave the factory in Colombes. There can be no doubt that it will win over a fan of the genre.
