- In a dry barn since 1972!
- Sound and complete
- Complete history

The DS Citroën was a gifted car, with the heavy task of succeeding the Traction Avant in 1955. It struck the public with a new and striking line of modernism, a masterpiece of Flaminio Bertoni, but it was also surprising in its technique and design: hydropneumatic suspension, power steering, disc brakes, semi-automatic gearbox to name but a few examples.
Twenty years of career and various models ranging from the elegant convertible to the utility station wagon version, she will also shine in competition by winning the Monte-Carlo Rally in 1958. A true myth and symbol of French industrial genius, the DS is one of the most collected cars in the world. There are amateurs driving daily at the wheel in California or even in Australia, proof of its great robustness and ease of use.
The car presented here is a moving barn exit. Colour AC 142, Mirage Grey and equipped with the extremely rare Luxury interior with white leatherette backrest and deliciously sixties blue fabric. It was put into circulation in November 1958, i. e. model year 1959. This special finish distinguishes these ID models from the Comfort or Normal models. In 1959, only 3600 Luxury models were marketed, how many are left? This one was bought by the father of the current owner in the Bourges region. It was stored in 1972 in the barn where we discovered it. It is stored in a dry place, on a concrete screed and protected from light. Its counter shows 38000 km, or 138000 real km. It is a real "time-capsule" as our English friends say. Time is frozen and the car, which is still very beautiful, does not show any perforating corrosion. The bodywork elements are perfectly aligned and have never been dismantled as the owner assures us. All documents are included with the car, the registration document, as well as the red bar of the mines, the maintenance booklet and the user manual. It will require a mechanical overhaul, but the base is sound and complete.

This car will be sold by auction by AGUTTES Auction House, in La Ferté-Vidame, at the Citroën Centenary, France, on July the 21th, 2019.
