1919 BUICK H45 TORPÉDO

French title
Chassis n° 507606
Engine n° 854784

- 6-cylinder 4L engine with overhead valve
- Old restoration, but good quality
- Car from the film "L’affaire Sezennec"

It was in 1914 that Buick's first 6-cylinder appeared, and it was notable for the time that it had already featured an overhead valve system. The H45 type appeared in 1919, while Buick already enjoyed a solid reputation for its build quality.
The example shown was purchased in the USA in 1990 when it was owned by the president of the Buick club and had undergone a restoration. The Parisian collector who imported it was content to have the fenders repainted, embellished with red coachline to match the rims,by coachbuilders Lecoq. The beautiful torpedo was bought by Mr. Thanry during an auction presided over by the Poulain- Lefur firm, in December 1994.
The description at the time specified that the car had been the subject of a test published in the magazine Rétroviseur in December 1991 and had appeared in the television series "L’affaire Sezennec", where the car appeared at length. This type H45 has benefited from an old quality restoration, pleasantly weathered, without excess, which highlights its beautiful appearance, with its large artillery wheels. For the comfort of the passengers, beveled deflectors are placed on both sides of the windshield. Having not been driven for ten years, it has just been restarted in 2021. Big in size, this beautiful Buick promises lovely drives made possible thanks to the exceptional performance for its time.
