Model History
This version was produced between 1989 and 1992. 850i was the most popular version of E31. Under the bonnet there is 12-cylinder engine with 4998cm3 of displacement and 300 horsepower. Power goes to the rear wheels via a 5-speed automatic transmission. BMW produced 20 072 of 850i variants (31 062 of 8 series total).
